We made a water filter in our science class . We were only allowed to use certain materials to make it . The materials we used were cotton wool, clean stones , dirty water, a jar, coffee filter, sand and a funnel. The aim was to have clean water at the end. It went extremely well and the water was very clean . Adam, Ben, Holly and Joey had great fun.

We aim to re-open as normal on Monday 5th March. Surfaces around the school may still be icy so please exercise extreme caution and please use the main gate only. As always, safety must come first, so please only travel if and when you feel it is safe to do so. Thank you
Please note that due to the adverse weather conditions, the next round of the Credit Union Table Quiz due to take place on Sunday in the Newpark Hotel has been postponed until March 18th.
As part of Operation Storm we were very excited to welcome An Garda Síochána to our school. We learned a lot about Road Safety and how to use the Internet and mobile phones safely. Poor Ms Purcell was arrested and was only set free when she promised not to give her class any homework! The highlight of the visit was getting to meet Donagh the horse and the Garda Mounted Unit. Thanks so much for visiting our school!
We celebrated Friendship Week in school from the 5th to the 14th of February. It was a busy week, with classes doing activites such as ‘Secret Friend,’ compliments sheets, friendship art, poetry and writing, anti-bullying lessons, class charters and lots more. We were reminded to ‘THINK’ before we say something – think; is it True, is it Helpful, is it Inspiring, is it Necessary and finally is it Kind? We finished the week with a Friendship Assembly where people were rewarded for their random acts of kindness and we announced the winners of our poetry, colouring and writing competitions. Check out some of the photos below!
28 February 2018 – Statement from the Department of Education & Skills
Given the disruption to transport and the safety risks arising, most particularly in relation to the ability to get home safely before blizzard like conditions hit Munster and Leinster, all schools, third level institutions, colleges and centres of further education in red areas will be closed tomorrow and Friday.
Due to adverse weather conditions, Leighlinbridge NS will be closed today, Wednesday 28th February. Keep safe and warm.
